Ashton D Keller
May 2,1980 - May 30, 2023
"Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway." Mary Kay Ash.
Our beloved bumblebee, Ashton David Keller, flew home to his Father in Heaven on May 30, 2023. Ashton was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 2, 1980 to Janet Christopher Keller and David Wayne Keller. He spent his childhood in Los Angeles, Cache Valley and Box Elder County. As a child, Ash attended the Edith Bowen School in Logan and continued his education at Lakeview Elementary, Box Elder Jr. High and High School in Brigham City. Ashton finished his education by completing his post high work at Logan High School.
Ash moved to Logan to begin his time at Futures Through Choices, a residential facility where he excelled and made life long friends.
Ash worked many jobs. While working at a farm it became evident he was great with animals and loved to be around them. They took to Ashton's gentle spirit and responded to him by obeying and loving him in return. This gift led him to the opportunity of teaching sign language to a seeing eye dog. He was successful and traveled to Oregon to participate in the dog’s graduation. Ash was a dog walker and loved the dogs he took care of. He also worked at KJ's convenience store and met many friends there.
Ashton was blessed with many talents and gifts. At a young age he showed his ability to 'keep a beat' and appreciate music. He was a wonderful dancer and loved his guitar. He enjoyed cycling and Harley rides with his dad. Ash was active in Special Olympics and in 1999 won the Gold Medal in Cycling at state.
More than anything, Ash loved his family. He loved dinners at his sisters’ homes, family celebrations, arm wrestling his uncles, Halloween chili, the 4th of July barbecue, and the big family Christmas party. He would pat everyone on the back, give them a hug or sign "you're crazy!" He made sure we knew he was there and that he loved us, and he knew we loved him. He was the life of the party and it will never be the same without him.
Ashton was heartbroken when he lost his beloved dad in 2018. Upon hearing of his Dad’s passing he went to his room, blasted his music and danced up a storm. He knew his dad could see him and this was his loving tribute. Ash stood guard like a soldier at his fathers casket and never left his side.
Ash had a special bond with his Mom. She was always there for him, and as a final gift to her allowed her to hold him as he left this world.
Ashton’s body was weakened and destroyed by diabetes. He fought hard but the years of battling took their toll.
Our family would like to give special thanks to all the people that befriended Ashton and made his life richer. Thank you to all the staff at Futures Through Choices who helped him and were so much a part of his life, especially Les and Greg. Ash loved and appreciated your friendship. Tender Care Homecare and Hospice, you are angels. Rob and all of you made Ash comfortable and his life easier. Thank you.
Ashton is survived by his loving mother Janet Keller, his special brother Austin, his wonderful, loving sisters and their families. Alacia (Matt) Loveland and their children, Julianna (Noah) Bradford, Isaac (Emily) Loveland and Hannah Loveland; Angie (Brandon) Brown, and their children, Lauren (Gage) Thurgood, Alyssa (Jordan), Ethan and Ava Brown; Autumn (Ben) White, their children, Bryson, Casey, SavaNaa, Adysen, Elly and Jaxyn.
