Brent William Merrill peacefully left us on July 21, 2024. Born on February 26, 1955, in Brigham City, Utah, Brent was a resilient spirit who brought color and vibrancy to the lives of everyone he knew. He was a compassionate soul who valued family and friends above all else. This love was evident in his every action and the way he chose to live his life.
Brent was a creative individual, full of innovative ideas and unconventional solutions. This creativity found a unique expression in his amazing talent in architecture and in his careers as a marketing executive, in real estate, and in owning his own advertising agency. Brent lived in various cities where he acquired many dear and lifelong friends, including Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and other Bay Area cities. He also resided at the Russian, Sacramento/Tahoe Area, Palm Springs area, and Brookings, Oregon. He was proud of the home that he and his spouse, Mike, built in Cathedral City, California.
Brent lived fully, fearlessly, and with an open heart. He weathered life's storms with resilience, always bouncing back stronger. He is survived by his spouse Mike King, his brother Tracy Merrill, and his sister Terry (Paul) Reese. He is also survived by his two nieces, Callee (Jeremy) Bischoff and Jamie (Rex) Keller. He is preceded in death by his father William (Bill) Merrill, his mother, Melva Marsh Nelson, and a brother, Craig Bruce Merrill.

Brent had a fondness for animals. Instead of flowers, the family recommends a contribution to a local animal shelter or rescue organization.
We encourage everyone who was touched by Brent's warmth and kindness to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page, as a tribute to a life lived with love, creativity, and resilience.
