Carma Cady

We gather to honor the life of Carma Jean Cady, a woman of extraordinary compassion, humility, love, and support. Carma, born on November 1, 1936, in Moreland, ID, USA, lived gloriously until May 1, 2024. As the poet Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Carma embodied this sentiment, leaving an indelible impression of love and kindness on every life she touched. Carma married Jim Cady in 1955 and made Yucaipa, California home where they raised their family. Jim and Carma made Brigham City, Utah, their home for the last 43 years, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her. A dedicated worker, she served in a clerical position in the government sector, specifically with the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, UT, until her retirement in 1999. Her work ethic was only surpassed by her dedication to her family and her hobbies. Carma found delight in pinochle card games, bowling, and square dancing. She was a proud member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she loved serving in primary and young women. Carma also participated in the Civil Air Patrol at the tender age of 16, displaying her courage and commitment. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Jim Cady, and a devoted mother to Connie Van Pelt (Michael), Lynne Bay (John), Robert Cady (Tracy), Steve Cady (Debbie), and Shawn Cady (Cathy). Her love extended to every family member, 13 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren. Carma was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Monsen, and her mother, Juno Grimmett Monsen, and husband. Her life will be celebrated with a funeral service on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:00 am MDT at Brigham City 20th Ward, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, Utah, 84302.
