Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Clarence Wayne Wilcox, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 with his family surrounding him.
Wayne was born on January 20, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Clarence Humphreys and Sina Cora Nielsen Wilcox Burton.
He served in the US Marine Corp from 1947 to 1950.
Wayne married Velma Larsen on June 17, 1950 in Georgetown, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Velma preceded him in death on May 10, 2016.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, hiking, golfing, reading and most of all being with his family.
Surviving are his five children: Doyle (Kathleen) Wilcox; Debbie Wright; Betty (Linne') Rollins; Karen (Ralph) Grange; Becky (Craig) Ecton; 26 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley (Bob) Wagner, one sister-in-law, Doris Wilcox, one brother-in-law, Gale Allred.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma, his parents, step father, James Burton, one son-in-law Glenn Wright; one brother, Dean Wilcox, two sisters, Marian Samuels and Ruth Allred.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah at 11:00 a.m.
Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Hooper City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County.
