Clyde S. Knighton
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Clyde Stephens Knighton, 89, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at his home from a heart attack.
He was born on February 22, 1931 in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Lester S. and Lucile Tolman Knighton. He graduated from Davis High School in 1949.
Clyde served in the Army National Guard.
Clyde married Jennine Burton in 1950 and from this union they were blessed with Joseph and Denise. They were later divorced. He married Vera Searcy in 1968 and she preceded him in death. He then married Christine Vance and she preceded him in death. Clyde then married his sweetheart, Maxine Blank on June 27, 2012 in Brigham City, Utah.
Clyde was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He retired from Amoco British Petroleum as Operator of the Oil Refinery.
Clyde loved to bowl, football, playing the guitar, pickle ball and being with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine, three children, Joseph “Jose” Knighton; Mark (Lori) Knighton; Denise (Robert Vipperman) Knighton; two grandchildren, one great grandchild; two sisters, Nelva Merrell and Esther Rex.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his second and third wives, Vera and Christine, and one sister Ruth Crook.
Clyde’s wishes were to be cremated and buried in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
