Colleen Peters Johnson
A beautiful and faithful life came to a close with the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Colleen Peters Johnson, who passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 in the home of her daughter.
She was born October 20, 1928 in Ogden, Utah, the oldest daughter of Aaron Thomas and Erma Allen Peters.
She graduated from Box Elder High School and married H. Dee Johnson on November 10, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on June 13, 2011.
Mom was valiant in her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully wherever she was called. She and Dad served in the Oklahoma City Mission, then as officiators in the Ogden Temple.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and visiting with friends and family. She loved to cook and was often found taking baked goods to friends and neighbors. Her greatest quality was that of kindness. She had an unconditional love for family and was interested in the details of each of our lives. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and they, in turn, adored her!
Dee and Colleen's family includes their five children: Steve (Marian); Tricia (Jimmie) Jones; David (Debbie); Robert (MaryKay); and DeAnn (Rob) Sabey; 26 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister and one brother: Berdine (Larry) Morley and Ferrell Peters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dee, and brother, Duane Peters.
The family wishes to thank Kaylee Ranjel and Integrity Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Brigham City Forest Hills Ward Chapel, 25 North 300 East. Friends and family may call from 10-11:40 a.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
