Coreen P. Olson
BRIGHAM CITY - Coreen Helen Petersen Olson died Friday, March 2, 2018 in Brigham City, Utah after a long struggle due to Parkinson's disease. She was born April 26, 1932 in Logan, Utah at the Budge Hospital, the daughter of Norman Elmer and Clara Rice Petersen. She lived in Providence, Utah and graduated from South Cache High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at Theurer's Store in Providence and later moved to Salt Lake City where she worked for ZCMI, eventually retiring from there. Coreen had a pleasant personality and made lots of friends wherever she lived. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She married Richard James Olson on March 30, 1993 in Laughlin, Nevada. Together they spent their retirement years traveling, being camp ground hosts in the Uintah's in the summer, and moving to Niland, California where they enjoyed the warm weather and made so many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Judy (Carl) Cobia of Honeyville, Utah. Two nieces, Carrie Sue (Clare) Poulsen, Jennifer (Lance) Brady, and one nephew, Wayne (Kimberlee) Cobia.
The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff at Gables Assisted Living where she had been living for the past 3 years. A special thank you also to Access Hospice and Dr. John Markeson for their care.
Funeral services will be held at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery, 925 River Heights Blvd, River Heights, Utah at approximately 12:45 p.m. if anyone would like to meet the family there.
