Craig Reed Hansen died on October 11th in the comfort of his home.
Craig grew up in Perry, Utah and continued to live there throughout his life. He was raised to work hard on his family farm and brought those skills to his own garden where he grew and gifted others his homegrown fruits and vegetables for years.
Craig married Karen Christensen Chutka in 1970 and had Kyle Hansen and Stacie Ann Colby, the couple later divorced.
In 2005 Craig married the love of his life, Gloria. Gloria's presence brought forth a tender side of Craig that his family had never witnessed before, She cared for him deeply
Craig loved fishing, hunting ducks, and played various sports growing up and was known as the “ping pong champ” Writing songs and playing the guitar was something Craig was known for until the arthritis in his hands could no longer allow it. Three of his grandchildren took up guitar playing, watching them play gave him so much joy.
Craig graduated with his bachelor’s degree from the Utah State University and was proud that his children graduated with their bachelors as well.
He worked and retired from Box Elder County in the Assessor’s office, subsequently starting his own business Hansen Appraisal Service where his Son worked with him for the past 27 years.
Craig is survived by his wife Gloria, his son Kyle (Lori) Hansen, his daughter Stacie (Scott) Colby, his sister Trudy Hansen, his brother Brad (Karen) Hansen and his grandchildren Broxton, Macie,Ryder, Henessi & Isabelle.
To honor Craigs wishes of not having a funeral we will be having a visitation at Gillies Funeral home on Sunday October 15th from 3-5.
There will also be a celebration of life to be announced on a later date
