David Keller

August 12, 1953 — April 5, 2018

David Wayne Keller, our loving husband, dad, grandfather, brother, son, and friend, entered his heavenly home Thursday, April 5, 2018. Dave fought a valiant battle with a rare syndrome known as Churgg Straus for nine years. Those nine years had many ups and downs, and Dave met each challenge with a "will do" attitude. He was the original Ever-Ready Bunny, never quitting and only slowing down when the disease forced him to. Dave was born Aug. 12, 1953 in Brigham City, UT to Preston Lloyd Keller and Barbara LuAne Jensen. He grew up in Brigham City and attended Elementary, Junior High and High School there. After a devastating motorcycle accident when he was seventeen, he continued his education, graduating from Payson High School. He then attended and graduated from Technical College in Culver City, California. Dave met his sweetheart, Janet Rae Christopher in Oct of 1973. After a whirlwind romance (to the laundromat) they were married on Nov. 5, 1973. They made their home in Tremonton, Utah; MarVista, California; Cache Valley, Utah; then back to Brigham City, Utah. Dave was thrilled to welcome his girls, Alacia LuAne and Angela JaNae, followed by his boys, Ashton David and Austin Lloyd, and was thrilled when Autumn Marie joined the family. Dad taught us so much when we were growing up and became our best friend as we became adults. We will miss his late night and early morning texts! Dad raised us to the best of his ability with what he was given. He was a master at everything he set out to do, be it gardening, woodworking, building, and painting, which he took up again when his illness kept him from pursuing his more active talents. He was a gifted artist, and filled his home with beautiful paintings which will be cherished. He loved model trains and built a wonderful collection with awesome scenes and country sides. Dave was a meat cutter for many years, then owned and operated Keller Sprinkling in Brigham City. At the time of his passing, he was Operations Manager for Aqua Tech car washes in Northern Utah. Dave loved his Harley, and he and Janet spent many years traveling the US and meeting many people who became lifelong friends. When his illness made it hard to operate his beloved bike, he traded it in for his little yellow convertible mustang. Anyone who met Dave walked away with a friend for life. It was his greatest gift, to make you feel you had been friends for years after only minutes of visiting with him. He was warm and caring, and his sense of humor was with him to the end. Dave loved family get-togethers and his children and grandchildren were his joy. Dave is survived by his wife Janet of Brigham City; children Alacia (Matt) Loveland, Kaysville; Angie (Brandon) Brown, West Haven; Ashton Keller, Logan; Austin Keller, Brigham City; and Autumn (Ben) White, Fielding. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Keller; and siblings Wendy (Greg) Kunkel, Kathy (Kent) Hoffman, K. Brent (Ann) Keller, Kenneth (Kristen) Keller, Dave M. Keller. He was preceded in death by his Mothers Barbara LuAne James and Helen Keller; Fathers Preston Lloyd Keller and George James, his brother Randy Keller, and his many loving grandparents. Funeral Services will held on Friday April 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Brigham City South Stake Center, 865 South 300 West. Viewings will be held on Thursday, April 12 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, from 6-8pm, and again at the church Friday morning from 10-10:40.
