Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend,
Dean F. Morgan, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at
his home.
Dean was born on Monday, August 27, 1934 in Lorenzo, Idaho, a son of Nello Willard
and Mary Christine Louise Dietrich Morgan. He was a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1952 and
served in the US Navy in Guam during the Korean Conflict.
He married Janeice Hillman January 20, 1956 and together they had three children,
Vicky, Dena, and Lori. They later divorced. Dean married Annette Wood Carter on
August 11, 1973 in Elko, Nevada and welcomed her children, Jenny and Brett to the
family.
Dean was a heavy equipment and crane operator, and worked on the Great Salt Lake
Causeway. He later owned and operated his own company, Morgan Floor Covering, in Brigham
City, Utah for over 37 years.
He was an avid hunter and was a hunting guide for many years in his youth. His
passion was The Davis Duck Club which he owned with several of his friends. After
retirement, he and Annette spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona and made many new
friends.
He is survived by Annette, his wife, of 50 years; children: Vicky (Mike, deceased) Fikani;
Dena (Doug) Mecham; Jenny (Kim) Waddoups; Lori (Dee) Korth; Brett (Sharon) Carter;
sister Shanna (Leland) Sevy; sister-in-law, Karen (Pat) Stephenson; 15 grandchildren,
48 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings: Wilma, Nello Morgan Jr., Ray,
Marvella, and Vaughn; son-in-law Mike Fikani; and great grandson, Garrett Haywood.
The family would like to thank Fyre, Jocelyn, and Lenora from CNS Hospice, and Talya
from Comfor Care for their loving care of Dean.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Brigham
City Cemetery, 495 E 500 S. with military honors.
Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Gillies Funeral Chapel,
634 E 200 S., Brigham City, UT.
