Brigham City- Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Diona Mace Perry, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 17, 2019. She is survived by her children, Justin Norman, Dallene Bracken (Marc Gleason), Angel Ringsted, Lynn (Kari) Perry; sisters, Janace (Adrian) Nelson & Connie (Ken) Gilbert; brother, Bret (Tina) Mace; ex-husband Ed Nyden; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Diona was welcomed home by her husband George Perry whom she was sealed to in the Ogden Temple; ex-husband Dallas Norman; her parents Harvey & Iona Mace; her children Dem Norman, Kent Perry, Lyle Perry, & Karen Misrasi; grandchildren, Brady Bracken, Bret Misrasi, & Angie Perry.
Diona was born in Grace Idaho, on June 6, 1942 to Harvey George Mace & Iona Nielson. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1960. She was an extraordinary woman who made friends easily, and touched the lives of so many. To know her was to love her. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she held many callings in Primary, Young Womens and Relief Society. She looked forward to visiting teaching with her fellow sisters.
Diona was President of Box Elder County Credit Union for 27 years. She was a strong female leader that took great pride in growing the Credit Union from a small starter credit union to operating at several branches county wide, serving tens of thousands of members with her credit union family. Diona had a passion for service and was a proud member of the Utah Credit Union League Board of Directors, Box Elder Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Utah Credit Union Lobby, & The Brigham City Community Hospital Board.
Diona enjoyed gardening, Utah Jazz, cooking, softball, golf, sewing, dancing, card games and traveling. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and her close lifelong friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Encompass Hospice Services, the staff at The Gables, staff and residents at Maple Springs & Brigham Community Pharmacy for the care and friendship they showed Diona.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Brigham City 14th Ward building, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, from 10:00-11:30 am, followed by funeral services. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
