On November 22, 2018 Elaine Morris Grover, 71, passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long and valiant fight with breast cancer. Elaine was born on February 28, 1947 to John and Thelma Morris in Knoxville, Tennessee. She grew up spending her school months in Herlong, California and her summers playing with her cousins in Tennessee.
Elaine met Keith Grover while attending college in 1965. A few weeks later, they eloped on a dare. Together they had 4 children: Jill, Lynn, Nina and James. Later, they divorced. Throughout the years, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren joined the family.
Elaine worked for many years at ZCMI and Dillard's where she touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a good friend, generous, and good natured. Her enthusiasm was contagious. Elaine met you with a genuine smile and made sure you were well fed.
We know there was much celebration in heaven as Elaine was joyfully reunited with her parents and other family members who passed before her. After a lifetime of searching, many of Elaine's genealogy questions will now be answered, including her never ending search for the mysterious Bertha Barnes.
Her family would like to thank the following people for taking care of Elaine: Dr. Ben-Jacob; Dr. Sliesoraitis; nurses Julie, Mitzi and Gina; the Intermountain Hospice team; and all the many caregivers who served Elaine through-out her long battle with cancer.
Friends and family are invited to attend services held at Gillies' Funeral Home at 634 E 200 S in Brigham City, UT on Friday, Nov. 30 at 11:00. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to services. Interment will follow the ceremony in the Mendon City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.
