Elaine Nelson Tolman of Honeyville, Utah was born on a farm in Tucson, Arizona to Alice Ann Kimball Nelson and Thomas George Nelson. Elaine was the 10th child of 12 children. Born on a Sunday, her dad always called her his "Tithing Child". She served a mission to the Eastern States. Following her return, she taught school in Deweyville, Utah, where she met and married Douglas Ralph Tolman of Honeyville, Utah, in the Logan LDS Temple on March 27, 1961, by her uncle Spencer W. Kimball. They spent their married life in Honeyville, Doug's hometown where she took charge of Tolman Orchard and was known to many around town as the "Apple Lady". Doug and Elaine had 5 children, LauraAnn (Mike), Allen, George (Susan), Martha, and Susan (Scott) Hales, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband Doug (2006), son-in-law Scott (2018), and grandson Samuel (2008). She passed on December 8, 2023, kicking and screaming- "I don't want to go! I will miss my grandchildren and dogs!"
