They spent their married life in Honeyville, Doug's hometown where she took charge of Tolman Orchard and was known to many around town as the "Apple Lady".
Doug and Elaine had 5 children, LauraAnn (Mike), Allen, George (Susan), Martha, and Susan (Scott) Hales, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband Doug (2006), son-in-law Scott (2018), and grandson Samuel (2008).
She passed on December 8, 2023, kicking and screaming- "I don't want to go! I will miss my grandchildren and dogs!"
