BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Emma Kathryn Sharp, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 12, 1942 in Smithfield, Utah, a daughter of Ezra Dwain and Ardeth Ellen Cragun Carlson. Kathy was reared and educated in Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1960. She married her sweetheart, Howard Ray Sharp on May 10, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the Brigham City 9th Ward, where she served in various callings. She also served in the Brigham City LDS Temple as an ordinance worker. Kathy worked as a bus aide for 21 years with Box Elder School District helping the handicap children. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, and being with her family. Surviving are her husband, Howard; six children: Monty R. (Alice) Sharp; Brian C. (Leann) Sharp; Laron H. (Cristie) Sharp; Kerry L. (Jen) Sharp; DeAnn S. (Brent) Barker; Allan D. (Becky) Sharp; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Thomas D. (Joyce) Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margene Layton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City LDS 9th Ward Chapel, 236 East 100 South. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, Jan 2. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
