Obituary for Faye Hirschi
Faye Andersen Hirschi, our loving Mother and Grandmother peacefully passed away on April 17, 2024, surrounded by her two devoted daughters. She was 87 years old.
She was born December 15, 1936, in Garland, Utah, to Robert James and Hilma Naomi Corbridge Andersen. Education was very important to her. She graduated from Bear River High school and earned her Bachelors degree at Utah State University in elementary education with a minor in history. She married Glade Ferd Hirschi, May 31, 1956. They had two children, Colleen and Cathy then later divorced. She taught 3rd grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Brigham City, Utah for 33 years. She enjoyed teaching school and loved when former students recognized her, saying she was
their favorite teacher. She showed patience, love, and acceptance with her students, she taught with enthusiasm, and seemed to be all smiles! She put her heart and soul into teaching. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Most of her years of service were with the music. She served as Jr. Sunday School Chorister where she was able to share her love for music and the good news of the Gospel. Also, chorister in Sacrament meeting and Relief Society cultural arts teacher.
Faye loved her family, flower gardening, reading, and Neil Diamond. We are not sure of the order, Neil might be first on the list. Music was a very important part of her life. She played the piano and sang in many choirs over her life time. She will be remembered by her quick wit, always up for a tease, her beautiful hair and smile, but most importantly, the way that she made people feel good about themselves. In her later years, when she suffered from Dementia, her personality was so kind and she didn't complain about her circumstances at all. Surviving are her two daughters, Colleen Ayotte (Donny), and Cathy Hirschi; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two granddogs, 5 great granddogs, her sister-in-law Eileen Andersen as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sandstone Brigham City, Utah for the love and care they provided her. Funeral Services will be held at the 12th ward chapel in Brigham City on April 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
