Brigham City Utah- Our loving dad, grandpa Gus, great grandpa, brother and friend, Gustaf Carl Leslie Kihlstadius "Gus", passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022 surrounded by family. Gus was born on July 22, 1934 in Clearwater County, Minnesota to Gustaf A Kihlstadius and Ruth Johnson Kihlstadius. Gus graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in art and spent his life using his talents working in the aerospace industry.
He joined the Airforce and served as a 2nd Class Airman in communications.
He met his wife Betty Lue Lundberg in the Airforce. They married and had two sons.
Gus loved collecting. His favorite was Mickey Mouse.
He belonged to the Lutheran Church. Gus was also a member of the Elks lodge.
The family wishes to thank The Gables and Bristol Hospice for the care they gave Gus.
Gus is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; son, Christopher; sister, Jacqueline Froehlich; brother, Richard.
He is survived by his son, Gus (Katie); 5 grandkids, Trey, Kodi, Scipio, Laurial, Marius; 12 great-grandkids.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham at 2:00pm. A viewing will be held prior to the service from Noon to 2:00pm. Interment will follow at the Brigham City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
