Jack Carlin Sargent of Brigham City, Utah passed away at home on Wednesday, February 7th just a few weeks short of his 90th birthday. Jack is survived by his wife Jane of 66 years, son Jess, daughter-in-law Barbara, grandsons Troy and Luke, daughter-in-law Dr. Linda Sargent and sister Mildred Cardon. He is preceded in death by his sons Jed and Dr. John Sargent, husband of Linda.
Jack was born in Cedar City, Utah and grew up on the family ranch. He obtained a business degree from Utah State University and had a long successful career in bankin. Jack and Jane met in Zion's National Park and began dating after he returned from military service. They have made their home in Brigham City since 1957 and together enjoyed gardening, attending Jazz basketball games and meeting family in Zion's National Park. He continued his childhood love of horses and riding and always kept a few on his 5-acres west of town.
He is going to be buried in the Brigham City Cemetery at 12pm on Saturday February 17th and remembered at 1pm during a luncheon at Irongate on the upper floor of the Brigham City golf course's clubhouse.
