Jack West

Jack West Our loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Jack Douglas Rice West, 41, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah from a cardiac arrest. He was born on January 20, 1982 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Michael Douglas Rice; Delwin Glenn and Mellien C. West. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 2000. He served in the US Marine Corp where he served a tour in Iraq. Jack is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jack was a talented musician, artist and loved doing tattoos. He also loved his family very much, including his friends he considered as family. Surviving are his four children, Mya; Marshall; Shyla Jayy; Ismael; mother, Mellien; siblings, Kelli; Cosette; Logan; Alex. He was preceded in death by his two fathers; one sister, Jamie and his niece, Katrina. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 S., Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held on Monday from 11:00 to 12:45 pm at the funeral chapel. Casual dressing is acceptable. Donations can be made to Gillies Funeral Chapel, PO BOX 704, Brigham City, Utah to help offset Jack’s funeral services. Interment will be in the Deweyville Cemetery.
