Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Janet Taylor Stevens Waddell, 82 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
She was born on May 4, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Frank Chester and Nancy Whitaker Taylor Stevens.
Janet graduated from Green River High School in 1960. Following graduation she attended BYU.
Janet and David Lynn Waddell were married on December 14, 1962 in the Logan Temple. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.
She was the best-ever member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various callings.
Janet had many hobbies which included sewing, cooking, baking, family history, going to the temple and being very supportive of her posterity in their events.
Surviving are five daughters, LaNan (Kelly) Donovan of Corinne, UT; Melanie (Ryan) Clark of Boise, ID; Autum (David) Hunt of Gilbert, AZ; VerRona (Tyler) Grandil of Gilbert, AZ; Mindy (Tyler) Canova of Woods Cross, UT; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; five siblings, Franklin Stevens; Annette Reese; Julie Stevens; John Stevens; and Wade Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn; two children, David Lance Waddell and Minae Wilkins, three siblings, Joyce Waite, Robert Stevens and Warren Stevens.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Brigham City West Stake Center, 895 N 625 W., Brigham City. Janet’s services will be live streamed. Go to www.gilliesmortuary.com/JanetTaylorStevensWaddell.
The family will greet friends for the viewing on Friday at the church from 10:00 to 11:30 am.
Interment will be in the Pratt Cemetery in Alta, Wyoming on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
