Jewel A Lamb

Jewel Alexander Lamb, age 83, of Smithfield and Mountain Home, died December 31, 2024 at the Autumn Care Assisted Living and Memory Care in Hyde Park, Utah. 

Jewel was born July 22, 1941, to Charles and Lillis Alexander in Mountain Home, Utah. She was the youngest of three children.

Jewel grew up on the family farm in Mountain Home. She had a lifelong love of horses. She said her dad always had a horse saddled and ready for her when she got up every day as a child.

During her teen years, Jewel worked at the Moon Lake Lodge. She attended school in Altamont Utah. After she graduated from high school, she moved to Salt Lake City to attend cosmetology school. When she completed her education, she moved back home and started working at a beauty shop in Altamont. 

Jewel met Jairus Lamb, and they were married January 25th, 1964, in Mountain Home. They had four children, Jerri Kay, Charlie, Allison and Camren (who died at birth).

They lived in Lapoint, Utah for a few years and then moved to Mountain Home. Jewel did hair for several years and then worked as a teller at First Security Bank in Altamont.

After Jairus died, Jewel moved to Smithfield, Utah where she has lived for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Smithfield ward and had close friends there.

She loved her grandchildren. She spent a lot of time at Mack Park and the swimming pool in Smithfield with her grandkids. In her later years, Jewel took up watercolor painting. She gave everyone in the family a painting.

Jewel is survived by her children Jerri Kay (Jeff) Abplanalp, Evanston, WY, Charles (Jodie) Lamb North Logan, Utah and Allison Lamb, Logan, Utah. Twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Jairus, son Camren, her parents, a sister Dolly Lindsay and a brother Robert Alexander.

A viewing and funeral service for Jewel will be held on January 18th, 2024, at Gillies Mortuary in Brigham City, Utah. There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral at 11:00 a.m. There will be a graveside service for Jewel at the Mountain Home/ Boneta Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. January 18th.
