Julie Mae Hyde Holman was born in the San Diego area on April 4, 1945, to Robert M. Hyde and Genevieve Marie Morello where she enjoyed her childhood with her sister Betty. She met and married Norton Allison Williams, who was a serviceman in the Navy. Together they had two sons. After they divorced, Julie raised her two sons Matthew and Steven by herself. When the boys were teenagers, Julie moved the family to Northern California settling in Redding. To support the family, Julie worked as a computer programmer, Hairdresser, and even received a degree in Horticulture. In later years, Julie became a professional genealogist. One day, while Julie was doing a woman’s hair, her client introduced herself as a Relief Society President and began to talk to Julie about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Julie was baptized in October of 1998 and became a devoted member with a deep testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Julie developed a love for genealogy, she wanted to live closer to a temple as she did this great work for her family. Julie looked online and noticed that a temple was being built in Brigham City. Julie was drawn to it and soon moved to Utah, where she was able to attend the dedication service inside this beautiful House of the Lord. Julie also enjoyed serving a mission for the Genealogy Department of the Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was while Julie was spending a few years living in St. George, that she met Joe Holman and was there married and sealed in the Saint George Temple to her dear eternal companion and sweetheart. Julie loved dogs and cherished her beloved Bichon Frise “Buddy.” Julie loved to fish and enjoyed camping and travel. Julie was fond of reading and read many church books and relished a good mystery. Julie was a great cook and was especially fond of the Italian dishes her grandmother had taught her to make. Most of all, Julie loved her family and cherished every interaction with them. She was very proud of Matthew and Steven and the good men they are. Julie valiantly fought cancer three times, losing the final battle on September 29, 2024, while at Mercy Medical Center (Dignity Health Care), in Redding, California. Julie is survived by her two sons, Matthew Carl Williams and Steven Todd Williams (Christine Eaken), four grandchildren Trisha, Alicia, Garit and Sasha, and five great grandchildren.
