Kathie Maylin, a spirited and loving woman, passed away on May 7, 2024. Born on April 6, 1950 in Ogden, UT, Kathie was a compassionate soul who brought laughter and joy to everyone who knew her. She was a woman of many talents, from crochet and cooking to art and gardening. Kathie had a particular passion for collecting jewelry, and her spirit always shone brightest in the lanes of her favorite bowling alley. She was a retired clerk from McKayDee Hospital, where her funny nature and compassion made her a favorite among colleagues and patients alike.
Kathie lived in several places throughout her life, including Lincoln and Roseville CA, where she spent most of her childhood, but she called Brigham City, Utah home and graduated from Box Elder High School. Despite her travels, what mattered most to Kathie was her family. She is survived by her brother, Charles (Arleen) Maylin, and her sister, Karen Paige and brother-in-law, Steve Rosser. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews; Janell (Jeff) Howcroft, Michele (Tim) Baitinger, Jason (Laura) Paige, Karla (John) Arbon, Kari (Brian) Walters, Andrew (Maggie) Maylin, Eric Maylin, and Brenda (Bill) Craig. Kathie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Maylin, her mother, Dorothy Maylin, and her sister, Pam Rosser and sister-in-law, Brenda Maylin.
In the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Kathie's love and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, 15 May 2024 at the Brigham City Cemetery located at 300 East 300 South, Brigham City, Utah, 84302.
