LaRae Korth Osborne passed away at home on April 25, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born in Brigham City, Utah on July 14,1936 to Ernest Wilhelm and Korma Kelly Korth.
LaRae grew up on a farm in Brigham and graduated from Box Elder high school in 1954. After high school she attended Utah State University. She met her sweetheart, Airman Hollis "Ozzie" Osborne, on a blind date while employed as a secretary at Hill Air Force Base. They were married September 23, 1960. Following Hollis’ graduation from USU, they made their home in Citrus Heights, California where they raised their daughters. In 2015, a few years after the passing of Ozzie, LaRae moved to Utah with her oldest daughter and son-in-law. They made her comfortable and took wonderful care of her, especially during the past year as her health declined.
LaRae was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Hollis Osborne, infant children, daughter Debra & son David, as well as her parents, in-laws, Hollis & Elenor Osborne, brother E. Kelly Korth, sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Herb Forsgren.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Diana & Wayne Hall of Salem, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Annette & Andrew Gilbert, of Hyde Park, Utah, a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne & Maxine Korth and sister-in-law Marie Korth. She also leaves behind grandchildren Braydon & Vanessa Hall, Tracy & Thomas Evans, Adam & Kelly Gilbert, Joel Gilbert and Emily Gilbert. Her great grandchildren include Robin Evans and Bridger Gilbert.
LaRae was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S, Brigham City, Utah. A graveside service will be held following the viewing at the Brigham City Cemetery 300 E 300 S. at 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Stitching Hearts Worldwide https://www.stitchingheartsww.org would be appreciated. Humanitarian work became important to LaRae after the passing of Ozzie. She spent many hours sewing, quilting and crocheting for others.
