Leslie Wright

October 15, 1951 — July 5, 2023

Les Allen Wright, born October 15, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, and a long-term resident of Brigham City, Utah, has passed away on July 5, 2023. He was a man of many talents and passions. Les was extremely intelligent almost to a fault and full of sarcasm and wit. He graduated from North High School in Torrance, California, class of 1969, Les enlisted with the US Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. He received an honorable discharge. Les went on to receive his Bachelor of General Studies from Weber State College in 1978, with a focus on Political Science, Police Science, and Child-Family Studies. Two years later, he earned his Master of Social Science in Human Resource Management. Les brought his expertise to the aerospace industry, dedicating his career to ATK from where he retired. He balanced his professional pursuits with a diverse range of hobbies, from golfing and playing the guitar to his love for astronomy. Yet, his most cherished moments were those spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of his life. He married Kerry Strange and they were later divorced. Les then married Debbie Arnell in Evanston, Wyoming in 1986. They were later divorced, but remained best friends. Les is survived by his two grandchildren: Dakota (Zane) Whitaker, Jadrie (Collin Moreland) Anderson; two step children: Michael (Tracy) Zitting; Mindy (Shayne) Loftus; 10 step grandchildren: Meghan (Ryan) Sides; Beth Zitting; Shanna Zitting; Sydney Zitting; Mikeal Zitting; Jeff Zitting; Brady Bessinger; Amanda Loftus; Kailee (Curtis) Facer; Lexi Loftus; 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Phil Wright; one sister, Patricia Hankins and his best friend, Debbie Arnell Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nile and Stella Wright, his daughter Stacia Wright (Troy) Anderson, sister Sheila Wright. To honor Les memory, let us remember to express our love and gratitude to those around us, as he so often did. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date, where military honors will be accorded. As we mourn the loss of Les, we also celebrate the full and meaningful life he led. You are warmly invited to share your memories, stories, and photographs on Les's memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a comforting reminder of the remarkable man Les was, and the significant impact he had on all our lives.
