Linda Brown

February 5, 1946 — July 6, 2024

Linda Lue Rosier Brown passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, surrounded by family, after a valiant fight with cancer. Linda was born February 5, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Wallace and Lillian Hatch Rosier. As a child, she and her family lived on and ran farms in Centerville, Fairview, Chester, Manti, and Moroni. She learned a lot on those farms but the biggest thing she remembered is “We had to be a family, we had to work together, we had to play together, and we had to pray together.” School was not easy for Linda. She had undiagnosed dyslexia, which affected her reading, writing and mathematics once all those letters got mixed in, but she did her best, graduating from North Sanpete High School, attending Snow College and later graduating as valedictorian from Hollywood Beauty College. She was an example of resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges, changing the way she approached a problem and working together with others in order to succeed. Despite her difficulties, she believed in the power of education. As her children began to read, she came up with new ways to work with her dyslexia in order to help them and was a great example to everyone when she went back to school graduating from the College of Eastern Utah--San Juan Center with an Associates of Science in 1996, the same day as her son Enoch. She later worked in multiple school districts across Utah for over 20 years as a teacher’s aide, helping children who had the same difficulties she did. On November 15, 1968, Linda was sealed in the new and everlasting covenant of marriage in the Manti Utah Temple. She was blessed with 10 children, who were the light of her life. She passed on the things she learned, teaching her children by her example to pray together, work together, and play together. Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She knew that she needed both to progress in the eternities, and to lovingly raise her children in the face of life’s challenges. This is the most selfless thing she has ever done. Linda served in many callings throughout her life in Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, the Young Women’s program, and Cub Scouts, learning and growing with each new calling. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Dell Hatch Rosier, William Wallace Rosier Jr, Dennis Hatch Rosier, and William Jay Rosier; and her daughter, Eve Brown. Linda is survived by her siblings, Cora Jean Jensen, Gary Lee Rosier, John Stearns Rosier, David Hatch Rosier and Lauri Ann Clark; her children Jared (Jackie), Ammon (Sarah), Rebecca (Tom), Enoch, Daniel (Tawna), Joseph (Jilaine) Abigail (Michael), Ruth (Stephen) and David (Krystal); her 39 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday July 12, 2024. The viewing will begin at 2:00 PM and the service will start at 4:30 PM at the Brigham City Central LDS ward Chapel at 506 South 200 East, Brigham City, Utah. Internment will be in the Chester Cemetery at 11:00 AM Saturday July 13, 2024.
