PERRY - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marilyn M. Nelson, 75, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 in Ogden, Utah. Marilyn was born on January 20, 1943 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Roland G. and Ilene Lemon Mackey. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1961. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Gordon L. Nelson on 29 December 1964 in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked for the Box Elder School District for 21 years as a Reading Specialist, retiring in 2006. Marilyn enjoyed reading, birds, gardening, flowers, geneaolgy, cooking, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Gordon; 5 children: Ronnie Nelson; Sheri (Chad) Christensen; Richard (Shayla) Nelson; Linette (Jeremiah) Burge; Robert (Megan) Nelson; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one son-in-law, Jerry Bradshaw; two brothers, Terry Tucker; Scott Tucker; three sisters: Nonna Mae Carr; Shanna Tobin; Anita Dickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Kristi Bradshaw and her brother, Wayne Mackey. In lieu of flowers Marilyn would like donations to be sent to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Missionary Fund. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Perry LDS 7th Ward, 2415 South Park Drive. Viewings will be held on Friday, Aug. 24th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah and at the church from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Mantua City Cemetery.
