Marjorie Forsgren Olsen
Loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday May 13, 2024, surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Perry.
Marge was born on February 19, 1934 in Brigham City, Utah at the Cooley Hospital to Wilford Wallace Forsgren and Sarah LaVerne Evans. Marge was the only child of theirs to be born in a hospital. She was the youngest of 12 children. She had two older sisters and 9 big brothers.
Marge met her sweetheart, Frank Olsen, in 1952. It was love at first sight. They were married in Yuma, Arizona on February 14, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Together they welcomed one son, Michael and three daughters, Tanna, Marjorie Lynn and Michelle.
Marge worked hard most of her life to help support her family. She worked as a cashier at a grocery store for many, many years. She was so good with numbers and really enjoyed her job. It was one she always remembered with fondness. When Frank had his meat business, Marge was the bookkeeper who kept everything in line. She and Frank were a good team and worked to give their kids the best life they could. Together with their children they moved many times and eventually settled in Brigham City, Utah.
Marge and Frank were always off on adventures together experiencing much of the western states and Mexico. They owned a small airplane and Frank would fly them all over, even if just to head to a good buffet. In their later years together they took their trusty RV and became snowbirds in Las Vegas each winter. Oh, the stories they told!
Marge was the best grandma a kid could ask for! She had 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She loved to play with all the kids and spoil them as much as she could. Her house was always stocked with Cheetos, Diet Coke, milk duds, hot tamales, crackers with spray cheese and lots of other goodies. She wanted to make sure there was something for everyone. On top of all the treats, her home was filled with love, kindness and acceptance.
Marge loved her many dogs and adored her beloved shitzu, Tuti. They took good care of each other these last few years. They were quite a pair.
Marge is survived by her daughter Michelle (Jeffrey) Jeppsen of Perry, Michael (Isa) Olsen of Brigham City. She is preceded in death by her dear husband Frank, her two daughters, Margie Lynn and Tanna, her parents and all of her siblings.
A funeral will be held on Friday, May 17, at 10 am at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S in Brigham City. A viewing will be held at the same location on Thursday, May 16 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Send condolences to www.gfc-utah.com.
