Mary Jo Knudsen BRIGHAM CITY - Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Jo Knudsen, 66 5/6, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born on July 6, 1951 in Springfield, IL, a daughter of William O. and Catherine Todd Russell Knudsen. Mary Jo was raised and educated in Kanab and Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1969. She attended Pacific Lutheran University and graduated from Loyola of Chicago University in dental hygiene. Mary Jo had lived in Tampa, Albuquerque, Bacqueville En Caux, France and Park City. She converted to Judaism and was a member of the Congregation Kol Ami in Salt Lake City. Mary Jo loved to do search and rescue with her bestest dog ever Tank, play bridge, and she was a Sudoku, crosswords puzzles, crypto quote whiz. Her favorite hobby was being with her three grandsons. We would like to thank her sisters, Liz and Connie, Joan Bell, Jill Hansen, John & Nadine Buist, her niece, Catherine, and Huntsman Institute for their care and support for our mother, Mary Jo. Surviving are her three children: Becca Gerber (Brent Whitford); David Gerber (Jamie Armstrong); JJ Gerber (Kat Chung); three grandsons, Danny, Henry Gerber and Benjamin Whitford; three siblings, Elizabeth (Pete) Baumgartner; Wm. Russell (Jeannie) Knudsen; Connie (Gregg) Schowendgerdt. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her dog Tank. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: UtahSearchDogs.org Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT.
