Maxine Cole, born in the heartland of Blytheville, Mississippi County, AR, on March 31, 1945, was a beacon of compassion and determination. Maxine passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She brought warmth and kindness into every room she entered and was often the one to offer comfort and solace in times of need. Maxine's life was filled with a variety of experiences, from living in the diverse landscapes of Fayette, Alabama and Blytheville, Arkansas, to settling in the serene town of Brigham City, Utah. Her love for her family was as boundless as her love for the natural world, often expressed through her passion for plants, ceramics, and puzzle books.
Maxine's professional life was marked by her dedication to helping her community. Working as a supervisor at the Box Elder County Food Pantry, she was instrumental in providing food and comfort to those in need. This role was a natural fit for Maxine, whose compassionate nature and strong leadership skills shone brightly. Her career also included positions at Burger King, Mims, Subway, Dixie Grill and the old Trailside, showcasing her versatility and dedication. The influence of her work was far-reaching, and she will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to those she served.
She was a proud mother, survived by her sons, Michael Burton, Dwayne Madison, and Joseph Cole, and her daughters, Marilyn Wilson; Christi Watkins; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Jenny Roseman; Stella Lockhart; Carol Duncan; Sandy Stribling; Theda Herren; and Brenda K. Ortiz. Their love for Maxine is a testament to the beautiful life she led and the profound impact she had on those around her. Maxine is preceded in death by her father, S Statum, mother, Opal Roberts; her brother JC Statum and her sister, Diane Jones. Her legacy of compassion, commitment, and care will continue to inspire her loved ones and the many lives she touched.
