Melvin John Rennemeyer, our loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, entered the presence of his Lord on December 13th, 2023 at Maple Springs of Brigham City, Utah.
He was born August 31, 1927, in Howells, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Catherine Rennemeyer. He graduated from Howells High School and married LaVerne M Kunhart in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells, Nebraska on August 16th, 1951. Together, they raised five children.
He worked hard to provide for his family and gladly helped his children with any handyman tasks they needed, setting an example that they would follow in their own lives.
His most important job was caring for his wife after a fall made it difficult for her to care for herself. He spent his last ten years faithfully serving her with love and tenderness until her passing in 2022.
He created a wealth of wonderful memories with his love for his family and his wit. He and his wife were avid snowmobilers who went to Yellowstone almost every winter. He was also a golfer and loved watching golf on TV in his later years. After retiring in 1991, he enjoyed driving cars for local dealerships, and solving the world's problems with the local retiree's coffee club.
He was a faithful life-long Catholic and received awards for 'Family of the Year' and 'Knight of the Year' from the Knights of Columbus.
Melvin is survived by his children, Keith (Rhonda) Rennemeyer, Wayne (Verlaine) Rennemeyer, Kristin (Rick) Walker, Jay (Eleanor) Rennemeyer, Melissa (Jim) Hampton, 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife LaVerne, his parents, brothers Raymond and Leonard, sister Rita, and great-grandsons Jacob Meyers and Jayden Beck.
"Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master’s happiness!"
