Michael James Petty
April 16, 1968 – November 10, 2024

Michael Petty was born on April 16, 1968, in Brigham City, Utah, where he attended local schools, and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1986. He later attended Snow College and Weber State, and spent much of his career at Hill Air Force Base in Roy, UT, where he also resided. Known for his eccentric spirit and outgoing personality, Mike touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A true lover of the outdoors, Mike spent his earlier years exploring the mountains and trails, engaging in hobbies like rockhounding, mountain biking, and skiing. His passion for nature was a defining part of who he was. He also had a deep love for music and reading. Mike shared a special bond with his Irish Wolfhound, Happy, whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy.

Mike is survived by his parents, Phil and Merlene Petty; his brothers, Richard Petty (Mindy) and Phillip Petty; his former spouse, Rebecca Reynolds; and their son, Zayne Petty (Whitney; Owen and Jett). He will be remembered for his unique character, kindness, and enduring spirit.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Brigham City Cemetery on November 21, 2024, at 1 p.m.
