Michael Smith Weaver, aged 75, of Honeyville, Utah, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on October 9, 2023. Born on November 22, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, Michael was a charismatic and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His generosity was boundless, and his intelligence was undeniable. His life was a testament to his faith in God and his love for his family.
He graduated in 1966 from Ben Lomond high school. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Ilene Barker, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage on earth and look forward to eternity together. A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Michael served in various positions and was a strong believer in prayer. He found joy in reading the scriptures and was a staunch believer in the restored Gospel. He was smart and industrious, working in various roles, including the Idaho Forest Service as a wildland firefighter, successful salesman, supervisor at Shaklee Health, and co-owner of Wiseway Foods which was the first to sell case-lot goods. He was also a generous mentor, founding a boxing club where he trained aspiring golden glove boxers. His hobbies were diverse, ranging from baseball and boxing to golfing and snowmobiling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's sports games, and going fishing with his family. In his downtime, he either had a BYU game on or watched the KBYU channel. As a testament to how dynamic he was, he was awarded MVP for baseball at the age of 16, boasting a batting average of .777, top in the nation at the time.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Ilene Weaver, and their children, Wendy (Chris) Stephens, Grant (Mary) Weaver, Brandon (Megan) Weaver, Bryce (Brooke) Weaver, Hyrum (Stacey) Weaver, Michelle Weaver, and Lewis (Natalie) Weaver.
