Patricia Laramee

September 12, 1946 — June 7, 2024

Patricia Lynn Laramee, Wasamo Giizhi Gokwai (Indian name), known affectionately as Pat to her loved ones, passed away on June 7, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on September 12, 1946, in Oklahoma. Pat was born to George and Clarissa Lowry, as a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Tribe. Her family moved from Oklahoma to Utah so her parents could work at the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham. Patricia's life was a testament to compassion, empathy, dedication, and unwavering support for those she held dear. Pat graduated from Weber State College and then received a Postgraduate Nursing Certificate as a registered nurse. She carried these qualities into her profession, providing care and comfort to many throughout her rewarding career in healthcare. Pat worked as a nurse at the LDS Hospital for many years. Pat's innate nurturing spirit extended far beyond the confines of her professional life, touching the hearts of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She also worked as an administrative assistant in the management department at Thiokol Chemical Corp. Richard and Pat met and hit it off right away. A year later they were married. They traveled to the Western States for their honeymoon. Pat's commitment to service was not only evident in her nursing career but also in her active participation in community organizations. As a proud member of the Eastern Star, Pat's dedication shone brightly, much like the star she embodied. Her service to her community didn't stop there; she also served as the Church Secretary for the Community Presbyterian Church in Brigham City. Patricia's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Pat was a hard-working woman with a love for all of the people she came in contact with. Richard and Pat vacationed with travel West to Los Angeles and East to Florida, plus visiting relatives in New York City. She loved seeing nature and appreciating Mother Earth. The National Parks were her favorite. The family and Richard will miss Pat with heavy heart. Richard says he is sure if Pat were here today she would say, carry on and be proud to have married such an outstanding woman. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Richard C Laramee, and her cherished family members. Son, Craig Martinez, daughter, Janis Aoki (Kenny), son, Brian Laramee, daughter, Elaine Harrigan (Rob), daughter-in-laws, Becky Hoppie and Rachel Vasquez; 8 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids; brother, William (Bill) Lowry.
