Ranee Larsen

August 10, 1932 — July 23, 2018

Ranee Larsen was born on August 10, 1932 to Newel Jensen and Amy Daines Larsen. She passed away on July 23, 2018 from causes incident to age. Ranee grew up in Mantua, Utah where she was the second child and oldest daughter. She and her sister Wilma were thirteen months apart making more than just sisters, but life long friends. She and her siblings spent their youth playing in the fields and meadows, or mud crawling in the streams of the Mantua Valley. The deaths of her older brother and mother deeply shaped her life. Church was always a focal point. Ranee severed a full-time mission to the British Isles mission. She worked in the Logan LDS Temple with her sisterWilma. After returning home from her mission, she found a career as a phone operator. She eventually moved to San Francisco, California forging a life-long career with Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a supervising phone operator. She loved reading, handwork, and travel. She even picked up her nephews Lynn and Kyle from their missions covering new places she hadn't experienced before. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Ranee moved to Cache Valley after her retirement before eventually moving back to Mantua where she grew up. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Newel and Amy, her older brother Mervin, and her younger brother Curtis all of Mantua. She is survived by her sisters Wilma (Kent) Newman and Carolyn (Floyd) Pease,several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mantua LDS First Ward Chapel, 237 South Willard Peak Road. Viewings will be held at the Mantua LDS First Ward on Sunday, July 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday prior to the services from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Mantua Cemetery.
