Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Rex LaVior Andersen, 56, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. He was born on May 3, 1961 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Orval G. and Lila Sheril Clegg Andersen. He was reared and educated in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1980. He married Stephanie Gomez in Brigham City and later divorced. Rex married his sweetheart Cindy Morris on Jan. 26, 1991 in Brigham City and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 29, 2000. Rex was a member of the Brigham City 21st and 25th Wards where he served in various callings. He worked at Thiokol, and while at AAI, he traveled to Egypt and Johnston Island off the coast of Hawaii and Utah State University where he retired in 2010 as a Hazard Waste Technician. Rex loved golfing, hunting, fishing and being with his family especially his granddaughter, Skilee. Surviving is his wife, Cindy; four children, Paul (Dayl) Andersen; Cheyanne Andersen; McKenzie Andersen; Codie Andersen; one granddaughter, Skilee Mielke; two siblings, Dee (Chuck - deceased) Spencer; Lonnie (Kris) Andersen. He was preceded in death by his parents, three children, Kyle Alvin, Amber Lynn and Jessica Rae Andersen. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City LDS 25th Ward, 865 South 300 West. Viewing will be held at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, on Tuesday, Oct. 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
