Our loving mother, Sandra Jo Stark Lott, 80, passed away on Friday, March 1, at the home of her oldest son after a mercifully short battle with metastatic lung cancer.
Sandra was born on February 19, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Earl Stark and Frances Rose Beckstead Stark. She married the love of her life, Gerald Glade Lott, on July 19, 1962, in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Sandra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brigham City 11th Ward.
Sandra worked hard for most of her life at Chadwick’s Greenhouse, Earl’s Cafe, American Greetings, and the Brigham Medical Clinic. She was unfailingly kind and kept lasting friendships with high school classmates, customers, coworkers, and patients at the clinic. She was an incredible lover of animals and would take in stray dogs and cats when they showed up at the house after being abandoned at the neighboring park.
Surviving are her two sons, Dale (Janet) Lott of Riverton, UT, and Lee (Lissa) Lott of Lehi, UT; brothers Kevin (JoAnne) Heil and Keith (Tressa) Heil of Willard, UT; and 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glade Lott, and her parents, stepfather, and brother Stewart Stark.
A single viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. The funeral service at Gillies will follow at 11:00 a.m. Please feel free to dress casually as Mom would have liked this.
We extend our heartfelt and eternal thanks to Jennifer, Annika, Travis, Gupreet, Wendy, Ashlee, and all the other staff at Bristol Hospice who gave gracious service to Mom and valuable knowledge and instruction to our family through it all. You will not be forgotten.
We also thank her sweetheart Don Rose and his entire family for loving Mom and giving her their heartfelt kindness and support over the past couple of years.
Interment will be in the Willard City Cemetery.
