Satoru (Sandy) Tawatari 88, passed away peacefully, April 30, 2018, at Maple Springs Assisted Living in Brigham City, Utah. He was born April 23, 1930 in Los Angeles California to parents Yoshiko Yamasaki and Sanji Tawatari. He came to Utah at an early age.
He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1948 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was married and later divorced.
Sandy worked 35 years at Thiokol Chemical Corp in Inspection. He retired in 1992.
Sandy was a member of the Honeyville Buddhist Church.
Sandy had many hobbies. He liked to go fishing, work in the orchard and his garden. He loved his trips to Island Park to ride his four wheeler. In the winter, he liked to go snowmobiling with many friends. He also loved sports and wordsearches.
Sandy is survived by his daughters, Ginger (Greg) Schindler, Peggy (Robert) Broz; grandchildren, Elizabeth & Aaron Schindler, Lindsey Broz; sisters, Chiyemi Nozaki & Kiyoko Tawatari; nephew Gordon Nozaki; niece Patty Nozaki.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018, at the Brigham City Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
