Scott Melbourne Coen, fondly known as Scotty, was born on May 21, 1971, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Scott passed away on October 6, 2023, and lived a life defined by his humble demeanor, reliable nature, witty charm, and dedicated spirit. He was always meeting challenges with a smile and an infectious sense of humor. Scott's life was a testament to his love for family, friends, and the great outdoors, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Scott was dedicated, priding himself on his service of 26 years in the United States Air Force when he retired in 2015 as a Senior Master Sergeant. After, he spent his professional career as a Configuration Analyst in ICBM Management. Both his military and civilian career took him to various places, such as Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, FE Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, and finally to Ogden, Utah. Scott's accomplishments, including his studies at Farmington High School and Grantham University, were a testament to his dedication and hard work. Yet, it was outside of work where Scott truly shone. An avid lover of nature, Scott found joy in fishing, camping, ATV riding, hunting, and gardening. His love for cooking and BBQing was legendary amongst his circle, and he was the life of gatherings with friends.
Scott was a loving and devoted husband to Misty Coen, a proud father to Jared Coen, and a doting grandfather to Eli Coen. He is survived by his wife, Misty; son, Jared; his father, George (stepmother Donna) Coen; mother, Linda Lee; grandson, Eli Coen; mother of his grandson, Amanda Gagnon; brother, Mark (Emily) Coen; sisters, Dawn Coen, Karen Smith, Sue Ann (Tom) Lee and Sherri (Dan) Arosteguy.
