Shirley Mary Jorgensen passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018 at the Bristol Hospice Center in Brigham City UT, where she had resided during a recent period of declining health.
Shirley was born August 31, 1934 in Bloomington, ID the second of four children born to Clarence A. and Leone M. (Broomhead) Jorgensen. The family moved from Bloomington to Brigham City UT where Shirley spent her childhood and attended school, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1952.
In 1952 Shirley married Neil O Miller and four children were born of that union. The family moved to California in 1962 and later returned to live in Greybull, WY in March of 1970. They later divorced in 1979.
Shirley spent her adult years taking care of her family while also working outside the home at various financial institutions and title companies in CA and UT, at the Big Horn County Extension office and Russell CPA in Basin WY. She enjoyed growing roses, gardening, canning and was a talented seamstress who gifted her family with many beautiful items over the years.
In the early 1990's Shirley returned to Utah and finally to Brigham City where she worked at a title company prior to retiring. When her health took a downturn in 2014 she became a resident at the Pioneer Care Center in Brigham City.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Leon, a sister, Helen, and longtime companion Art Angulo. Survivors include a sister, Diane Perry of Brigham City UT, a son Neil (Minnie) Miller of Thermopolis WY, three daughters; Roberta Crossguns of Ulm MT, Mary Jo (Rocky) Russell of Sherard IL and Laura (Robin) Kurth of Mosinee WI, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At her request no services are planned. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Shirley will be laid to rest at Brigham City Cemetery in the Clarence Jorgensen family plot.
