Shirley W. Loveland
Shirley Waddoups Loveland passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She graduated from Box Elder High School. Shirley ran for Peach Queen in Brigham City, at the age of 16. At the time she was the youngest to have ever competed and it was quite a controversy. She attended a couple semesters at Utah State University in Logan. One of her classes was French and she said that was the reason for her youngest daughter name. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life J. Robert Loveland on July 21, 1950 in her parents home in Bear River City, Utah.
She was born in Juniper, Idaho and lived on Juniper Street in Twin Falls, Idaho for over 40 years. She worked for Browning Freight Lines and later in life, Target while in Twin. She loved children and ran a day care out of her home for many years, they were loved by her like her own children. She kept a spotless house and loved decorating it, especially for the holiday's. She was a voracious reader, went to 2nd hand book stores and the library often. She enjoyed dancing with dad and they attended a dance held weekly in an old barn outside of Twin. She looked forward to her card games with Aunt Joy and Uncle Bob. She could always get us all laughing over a game of Rummy. After her kids were grown, the love of her dogs kept her going. She loved animals and her pets were her family.
Shirley was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother.
We love you mom and grandma.
Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lorena Viola Hastings Waddoups, husband J. Robert Loveland, one daughter, Robbie Lee Loveland Ricks (Dale), sister, Joy Gilbert and brother, Colen Waddoups.
