Thomas Cracas

Thomas Cracas Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Thomas Cracas, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Brigham City Community Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1931 in New York City, New York, the son of Cosimo and Frances Cracas. He graduated from Strubmillertextile High School in 1950. He received his bachelor's degree in Forestry from Utah State University and received his master's degree in Education from BYU. Tom married his sweetheart, Joyce Hall in the Logan Temple on December 18, 1953. Tom served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant during the Korean Conflict. Tom worked two years at Intermountain Indian School. He was Title One Psychologist, principal at Ben Lomond High School, Hill Crest Elementary, Bona Vista High Schools. He was also the Director of the Severely Disabled for Box Elder, Ogden and Weber High Schools. District Administrator for AP Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts. An Ogden youth facility run by Tom had received an award from the U.S. Department of Education as one of the top three programs of its kind in the nation. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly-tying and being with his family and spending time at his cabin in Island Park. The family would like to thank Beehive Homes in Perry for their excellent care and compassion for Tom. Surviving is his wife, Joyce; two children, Cathy Morton and Mike (Judy) Cracas, five grandchildren, Vanji (Derek) Christensen, Chas (Stephanie) Claybaugh, John (Dani) Cracas, Matt (Karine) Cracas, Iris (Chris) Chase and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, Paul and Mathew Cracas, one granddaughter, Kylee Slater, and one sister, Lorraine Salonzky. Services will be held at a later date.
