Thomas Joseph Miggin Ill, 80, of Brigham City Utah returned to be with his beloved wife Beverly on July 7th, 2023 surrounded by his family. Tom was born August 18, 1942 to Thomas Joseph Miggin Jr. and Elizabeth Ann (Curran) Miggin in Braddock, Pennsylvania.
Tom grew up in North Braddock, Pennsylvania and attended St. Thomas School. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force and began his military career from which he later retired. While travelling on the train from Pittsburgh to Hill AFB he met Beverly, the woman he would later marry on September 13, 1963. They started their family two years later and had four children. In 1967 they purchased their first home and moved to Brigham City, Utah where they raised their family.
Tom loved his country and had a long military career which included 6 years in the Air Force. This is where he learned to be a professional photographer which became a lifelong passion. Later he joined the Army and was a full-time recruiter. He then transferred to serve in the Army Reserve for a total of 21 years, until he retired from the military. He loved telling stories to his children and grandchildren about his military travels and summer camps.
Tom had a lifetime career at the Defense Depot in Ogden where he started as a warehouseman and by the end of his career was working in the computer room as a Computer Specialist and Supervisor. He was blessed to be able to retire early at age 52 from the Depot. After his retirement he was able to share his love of photography by working with students at Box Elder High School.
Tom was raised Catholic but joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 30, 1963. He loved that church life centered around families. He enjoyed doing family history and served a family history mission with his wife and served as a leader in the Boy Scouts for many years.
More than anything, Tom loved being with his family. He was a most devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always loved to travel and he spent many hours in the car with the family driving across the country from coast to coast visiting family and sightseeing. Tom loved sports from a young age and played many sports. He also coached his boys and loved watching all sports on TV. Being from Pittsburgh, he was a devoted Steelers and Pirates fan.
