Vaughn Christian Nielson, was born on August 2, 1971, in Bountiful, Utah to Vaughn and Marlene Nielson. Vaughn was a man of infectious humor, boundless love, and inspiring courage, whose life was a testament to the power of faith and family. He was an Eagle Scout and a Journeyman Welder, demonstrating his enduring commitment to community service and skilled craftsmanship. Vaughn was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing, hunting, and chasing bear and mountain lions with his hound dogs. He had a love for all animals, especially his beloved Great Dane, Rosie.
Vaughn had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He took immense joy in teasing his children and wife, Lorilyn, whom he married on March 31, 1990. Together, they built a life full of wonderful memories and amazing "adventures". A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Vaughn served in the Elder's Quorum, with boy scouts, and the Young Men, demonstrating his strong faith and dedication to service. He was an incredible example of strength and resilience, facing trials with unwavering courage and grace.
Vaughn had strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a sincere love for his Savior. He always encouraged his family to read the Book of Mormon, listen to conference talks and follow the prophet. He always let his family know how much he loved them, right up until the end.
Vaughn's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Lorilyn; his children and their partners, Tyson (Melissa) Nielson, Abby (Chase) Smoot, Amanda (Dallin) Parkinson, and Alexis (Skyler) Fishback. He adored his grandchildren who held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Nielson, and his granddaughter, Delilah Warren.
Vaughn's life will be celebrated at the Honeyville 3rd Ward on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 12:00pm MDT. Prior visitations will take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 6:00pm MDT to 8:00pm MDT at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham and on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00am to 11:45am MDT at Honeyville 3rd Ward.
