Virginia Blanche Olson Olsen
BRIGHAM CITY - Virginia Blanche Olson Olsen, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in Brigham City, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 18, 1933, in Downey, Idaho; a daughter of Heber J. and Blanche Armstrong Olson. On June 6, 1952, she married Clair Nash Olsen from Weston, Idaho, in the Logan LDS Temple. In 1956, they moved their family to Brigham City. She taught English at Intermountain Indian School until its closure in 1984. She then worked as a substitute teacher. Some of her favorite hobbies were playing the piano, genealogy, reading and helping her grandchildren.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many different callings, but especially enjoyed the opportunity to serve with her husband as Ogden LDS Temple Ordinance Workers, and serving together in the Stake Name Extraction Center for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clair, daughter Marianne Olsen, a son-in-law Mark Orchard, a brother Earl Olson, and two sisters Barbara (Floyd) Gibbs and Beverly Olson.
She is survived by three brothers, Grant (Gail) Olson; Spencer (Shara) Olson; Harold (Lannie) Olson and one sister-in-law, Roberta Olson.
She is also survived by 11 children, Stephen (Debra) Olsen; Richard (Terry) Olsen; Robert (DeLis) Olsen; Alan (Elizabeth) Olsen; Mark (Valerie) Olsen; Susan (Rick) Merryweather; Douglas (Shauna) Olsen; Linda Orchard; David Scott Olsen; Jeanette (Raul) Christensen and Karen (Ryan) Cheever. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Forest Hills Ward, 25 North 300 East, Brigham City, Utah, with the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Brigham City Cemetery.
