Yvonne Fay Adams

Perry – Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Yvonne Fay Adams, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023 in Brigham City, Utah. Yvonne struggled with Alzheimer’s for the past several years, this debilitating disease finally took its toll.
She was born on September 12, 1935 in Timaru, New Zealand, a daughter of Hector
Gordon Baigent and Annie Fraser Reynolds. She was reared and educated in Matamata, New Zealand, graduating from Matamata college (High School) and then completed a nursing degree. Yvonne became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 22 years of age, and then chose to move to the United States. While living in Logan, Utah, she met her sweetheart, Gary Adams, a Logan native, and they married on June 30, 1961, in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1962.
Yvonne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, served in many callings including; Relief Society president, Young Women’s leader, Stake and Ward sports director, and with her husband as Stake Dance instructor. She served two missions with her husband, Gary in the Baltic States Mission from 2001 to 2002 and Bishop Store House in Brigham City from 2009 to 2010. She also enjoyed serving in the Brigham City Temple laundry facility in her later years.
Early in her career she worked for the Logan Knitting Needle company as a seamstress and then became a full-time homemaker after her children were born.
Yvonne loved to play sports (basketball, volleyball, softball, golf), camping, volunteering as a community and state PTA board member. Yvonne spent her life serving others in various community and church capacities. She loved to sew, knit, quilt and make clothing for others including her extended family.
The family would like to thank Maple Springs Assisted Living for their loving care of Yvonne for her last few years and Aegis Home Health and Hospice for their care of Yvonne in her final weeks.
Survived by five children; Mark (Kristine) Adams of Pleasant View; Tamra (Hal) Harvey of Hyrum; Brett Adams of Carefree, Arizona; Michelle (Mike) Federico of Boise, Idaho; Scott (Mary) Adams of Ammon, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one brother Maurice Baigent, Matamata, New Zealand. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her parents.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Perry LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 2415 S. 900 W., Perry, Utah.
Viewings will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 S., Brigham City, Utah and on Saturday at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
