Yvonne Lucille Monson, 87, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2024. Yvonne was born September 29,1936, to William Leo and Gladys Nelson Beyler in Malta, Idaho. She attended school in Malta graduating from Raft River High School. She was a student at the Agricultural College-USU when she met her future husband. Yvonne married Edward Gary Monson on April 1,1955 in Logan Utah. They were together for 40 years before Gary’s passing in 1995. After their marriage they moved to Los Angeles, California where they resided until 1994. Returning to Utah to be closer to their daughter in Brigham City.
Yvonne worked as a clerk at Pacific Bell-AT&T in Los Angeles, California. She retired in 1987 after thirty years of service. Yvonne loved to travel with her family and friends. She enjoyed diving into a good book, doing cross word puzzles, working in her yard and being a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Yvonne was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a dedicated ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple. She cherished the ten years she served in the Ogden Temple and the many friends she made. Yvonne was loving, helpful and patience. She will be remembered by many for her kindness.
Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Pamela Randall and granddaughter, Katie Randall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Monson, her parents Leo and Gladys Beyler, and her siblings, Adelia Thompson, Veloy Buckingham, Arvil Beyler, Edith Anderson, Ressa Davis, Ellen Spencer, Grant Beyler, and LaMont Beyler.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Gillies Funeral Chappel 634 E. 200 S. Brigham City, Utah. A Graveside service will follow at 12:30pm at Millville Cemetery 310 E. 100 N. Millville, Utah.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Markeson and staff at Brigham Internal Medicine in Brigham City for their years of care in assisting Yvonne with her health and medical challenges. We would also like to thank Bristol Hospice of Northern Utah and their hospice nurse Nicole for the tender, special care given to our mother and grandma during the last few weeks of her life.
