Brent was reared and educated in Malad City, ID, graduating from Malad High School in 1981. His lifelong dream was to be a funeral director. Brent married Lori K. Isralesen and they have five children, Elliot (McKell); Drew (Bonnie); Megan, Ryan and Lena, one granddaughter, and one grand dog, Peety. Brent graduated from Cypress College with a degree in Mortuary Science.
Brent worked for a funeral home in Fullerton, California for three years then returned to work in Utah to be close to family. Brent and Lori purchased Petersen Funeral Chapel in May of 2001. Gillies Funeral Chapel has been in operation for over 18 years. Brent is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Utah Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of North America.
He has been active in his community serving in many capacities; President of The Box Elder County Hospice, President of the American Cancer Society Box Elder Relay for Life, Board President of New Hope Crisis Center, Past President of the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce, served on the Acts VI Soup Kitchen Board, and is currently serving as Treasurer for the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys volunteering at the Brigham City Senior Center, the Boy Scouts of America, his church and local schools. He is a member of the Brigham City Rotary Club, serving as a director and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Brent has received the Governor’s Silver Bowl of Volunteerism for Brigham City and the Jim Davis Service Award from Brigham City, Brent enjoys being with his family and traveling, camping, yard work and laughing.
Mandy Garcia, funeral director for Gillies Funeral Chapel, graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and is a certified member of the Cremation Association of North America. Mandy is also a member of the Utah Funeral Directors' Association and the National Funeral Directors' Association.
Mandy has been an active volunteer in the Brigham community for years serving many organizations. She was the head ambassador for the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce, Board President for The Box Elder Community Food Pantry, and Member of Brigham City Kiwanis Club and served as President.
Mandy loves traveling, camping, music concerts, writing, enjoying nature, and spending time with friends and family.
Royella was born in Spokane, WA, (same hospital as John Stockton – for you Utah Jazz fans). She graduated in Social Work from Utah State University and has a passion for Hospice care and Bereavement – Grief Relief. She is the mother of three boys and the foster mother to four daughters. She lost her husband in 2018 after providing his total care for four years. She is a compassionate, caring, person who respectfully gives hope, encouragement, and self-empowerment.
